SHUWAIKH PORT INFORMATIONShuwaikh port is considered the main commercial port in the country, it is located at latitude 29 21 north, longitude 47 56 east, with a total area of 4.4 million square meters. The total basin area is about 1.2 million square meters, the land area is 302million square meters.The port has 21 berths including 3 container berths. Vessel sailing to and from the port pass through a navigation channel dredged inside Kuwait Bay. The channel is about 8 Km long and its depth is maintained at 8.5M at minimum water tide level. The port can receive vessels of 7.5M draft at any tide and vessels of upto 9.5M draft at high tide.Shuwaikh port has limited open storage area and are customs bonded.
